Company Description
Foreign life insurance company offering a diverse range of financial products and wealth management services
Responsibilities
* Support the Japan CFO in developing and managing financial strategies for Japan to set and achieve business goals.
* Ensure the efficient and timely production of corporate financial reporting (JGAAP and USGAAP) on monthly, quarterly, annually and ad hoc bases.
* Responsible for the overall integrity of the financial reports for Japan business as well as providing insightful analysis of the financial results
* Ensure that Senior Management's needs are met including providing information and analysis that support executive decision making
* Directly lead and coordinate the annual planning cycle
* Ensure effective communications with the corporate offices and the Asia regional offices
* Manage the relationships with regulators and external accounting firms
* Develop and coordinate tax strategy
* Oversee the development of finance and accounting staff (20+ staff)
Requirements
* Qualified accounting designation or advanced finance degree and 10-years post designation of relevant experience
* Full Actuarial qualification (member of The Institute of Actuaries of Japan (IAJ))
* Excellent oral and written English communication skills. The oral Japanese skill is a plus
Preferred Experience
* Demonstrated financial leadership in a large financial multinational company and demonstrated track record of developing team/staff
* Financial services experience with Life Insurance a plus
* USGAAP or IFRS experience is a plus
