Overview
Leadership role for controllership team
Company Description
Leading global commercial real estate company with over $10 billion assets in Asia that are mainly comprised of real estate properties and non-recourse loan portfolios.
Responsibilities
Lead monthly/quarterly closing across all countries in Asia Pacific
Drive monthly/quarterly reporting for US HQ (Balance sheet reviews, delinquency reporting, etc)
Ensure 6-sigma in key controllership metrics
Resolve and provide input for US GAAP technical accounting questions across all countries in Asia (new deal structures, troubled debt restructuring, valuations, etc.). Liaison with HQ team in the US regarding complex matters.
Lead internal audit effort across the region (e.g. asset valuation, account reconciliation, T&L)
Drive simplification initiative across Asia to create capacity and increase productivity
Reduce legal entities/BSLAs
Digitize accounting process
Identify outsourcing opportunities
Organize accounting/system training to the team in Asia to build knowledge
Manage HQ controllership team of 4 and dotted line manager for 3 other staff
Requirements
CPA
Solid knowledge of US GAAP
10 years of Finance experience
Fluency in English. Japanese language knowledge is desirable
Preferred Experience
Real Estate experience is desired, but not necessary
CPA and audit firm work experience, preferred
