Responsibilities
- Develop annual operational and capital budgets to support operational objectives
- Drive the annual budgeting cycle at FC level including goal setting and communicating targets, reviewing the budgets and managing the inputs
- Partner with the Site Lead and Management Team to provide financial and risk management
- Develop and maintain relationships with Operational Managers to communicate strategy and manage cost reduction
- Work with the JP West Controller to drive developments in financial planning, reporting and analysis and deliver department goals.
- Contribute to the development of the overall Ops Finance team by managing, mentoring and coaching staff.
- Create ad hoc analysis and assist in local and national projects as required
Requirements
- A strong background (minimum 3-5 years) in finance, consulting, or a related highly-analytic field with a strong history of progressive career growth
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including bilingual fluency (English/Japanese)
- Intense customer focus
- Strong computer skills
- Good understanding of accounting and finance, including the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, capital project appraisal, operational cost & labor/ productivity analysis
- Ability to think both analytically and strategically - to go beyond the numbers and think logically about underlying business issues
- Flexibility, including the ability to prioritize in ambiguous situations to drive to the best overall result
- Appropriate degree level qualification required
Preferred Experience
Experience in working with large data sets or relational databases (including prior experience with Cognos, Essbase, and/or SQL)
Desired Traits
MBA, CIM/CIMA preferred
