Company Description
Our client is one of the largest international financial service companies globally.
Responsibilities
*Overall:
-Responsible for overseeing the investment accounting under US and Japan GAAP, partially including US statutory reporting
- Responsible for overseeing transactions related to these areas
- Reconcile and analyze General Ledger accounts in collaboration with Investment and General Accounting Group
*Supervision:
-Organize, train, and motivate five to six staffs to prepare the US and Japan GAAP reporting
*Analytical /Financial report preparation:
-Perform accounting research for investment accounting related issues and new accounting guidance implementation
- Prepare financial schedules and ad hoc reports and analysis for management as requested
- Must have a solid understanding of investment accounting as well as understanding of general accounting
Requirements
*Bachelor\'s degree
*3 or more years experience in investment accounting. 2 years\' management/supervisory experience required.
*Understanding of investment related GAAP such as \"Accounting Standards for Financial Instruments, The Accounting Standards Board of Japan Accounting Standards Committee\", \"Practical Guidelines on Accounting Standards for Financial Instruments, Japan Certified Public Accountants\", \"SFAS 115 Accounting for Certain Investments in Debt and Equity Securities\", \"SFAS 155 Accounting for Certain Hybrid Financial Instruments - an amendment of FASB Statements No. 133 and 140\", etc.
Solid technical understanding of investment processes, internal controls, and investment accounting.
*Understanding of accounting systems and familiarity with software used on a daily basis.
*Fluent Japanese and business level English
Preferred Experience
*Investment front, middle, or back office experience
*CPA qualification in any country
*Public accounting firm experience
